Gabriel Lee Johnson is a senior majoring in Economics with a
minor in Global Disease Biology.
He is currently a volunteer at the Imani Clinic and previously
was a Senator for the Associated Students of UC Davis.
After graduating from Davis, he plans to pursue a Master’s Degree
in Public Health with an emphasis in Global Health. His
passions are around public policy, health economics, social
justice, and African affairs. He plans to pursue a career
in Health Policy.
The Undergraduate Public Policy Internship provides an
opportunity for undergraduate students to work closely with
Center for Poverty Research staff to research current state and
federal legislation to help disseminate the Center’s latest
research.
In addition, interns receive training and mentorship to plan and
execute a major outreach project. Previous year’s projects
include Faculty Affiliate videos on poverty, social media
campaigns, a survey of federal legislators and
infographics.
