Peter Franks received his M.D. degree from the University of London, England. His research focuses on research design and methodology in primary care, psychosocial and socioeconomic factors affecting health, and health status measurement.
Franks completed residency training in Rochester, New York in 1979 and joined the faculty there. For the next 20 years he adopted many guises, including residency director, research director, medical director, and associate chair before moving to Sacramento in 2000.
