The Center for Poverty & Inequality Research (CPIR) at UC Davis in collaboration with Howard University, Morehouse College and Spelman College, hosts the UCD-SPREE program which introduces undergraduates from these Universities to poverty research in the social sciences and develop skills for graduate school.
During their first summer in the program, students will participate in remote professional development activities with CPIR faculty and graduate students and coordinating graduate school preparation components sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies.
Following the first summer, students will be eligible to apply to become members of the second-year cohort. Second year students will remotely join their faculty mentors’ research groups, continuing to work in a mentored research assistant capacity through the summer.
