Tiago Rachelson, from Miami, Florida, is a rising junior at Morehouse College, where he pursues a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sociology. Tiago loves learning about social justice causes— especially those related to race, class, sex, gender, and sexuality. Tiago is a Stamps Scholar and is on the Dean’s List at Morehouse, winning the Top Freshmen Scholar Award in his first year. During his time on campus, he has been Dorm President, a Student Ambassador, a Presidential Ambassador, and a board member of the Morehouse Business Association. Before arriving to UC Davis, Tiago will participate in the 2019 UNCF/Mellon-Mays Fellowship Program at Emory University, where he will be conducting research alongside 30 other students. Last summer, Tiago interned at Clark Resources in Harrisburg where he engaged in a poverty and diversity-related research project. He also spent the latter part of the summer receiving German language instruction from Die Neue Schule in Berlin, Germany. Tiago loves music, The Office, and traveling, and he is a die-hard Boston Celtics fan.
