Symone Johnson is a sophomore at Spelman College majoring in
Psychology.
Her social justice work began when she joined the Social Justice
Fellows Program and assumed the role as President of the Spelman
chapter of Active Minds, Inc., advocating for the increased
awareness of mental health conditions on college campuses and
within minority communities. Her research interest is in Positive
Psychology, focusing on how socioeconomic status, community
interactions, and self-identity influence happiness and quality
of life.
After graduation, she hopes to pursue a PhD in Clinical
Psychology and begin a psychotherapy practice while continuing
her work in advocacy and mental health education.
