Malcolm Thomas is a rising junior at Howard University. Malcolm is honors student, majoring in Political Science and Economics. He serves as a mentor for the Freshman Leadership Academy, using his past experiences to benefit the new members of the academy. As a delegate from Howard University, Malcolm embarked on a trip to China as a part of a Cultural Immersion Campaign to promote global leadership. Malcolm is also a member Young African American Leadership Initiative, in which he served as the team leader for the public policy research group when the organization travelled to Ghana. As a member of the Political Action Committee for the Howard University NAACP chapter, he contributed to educating fellow members of his community on the policies that impact their life and worked to increase voter participation. Malcolm has also been able to engage directly with the political system, serving as an intern in the office of Congresswoman Lois Frankel. He also interned in the Education Office of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee under ranking member, Senator Murray.
