Chloe Gibbs is an assistant professor of economics at the University of Notre Dame where she is also a faculty affiliate of the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities. Dr. Gibbs is interested in measuring the effects, both intended and unintended, of education policies and interventions on disadvantaged children and families. Her recent research includes analyzing the impact of full-day kindergarten on maternal employment, exploring whether fade out of early childhood program effects varies with preschool and early school experiences, and investigating patterns of fade out across studies of Head Start program effects. She also has work-in-progress looking at the effects of local college scholarship programs on teens’ risky behaviors and exploring the persistence of full-day kindergarten impact on cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes. Dr. Gibbs completed her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago’s Harris School, and her dissertation has been recognized with awards from the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management and the Association for Education Finance and Policy. Her research has been cited by Education Week, TIME, The Washington Post, and the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
