Call for Applications: Blum Center for Developing Economies

The BLUM CENTER FOR DEVELOPING ECONOMIES partnered with CA&ES, COE, CL&S, and CBS to create the Blum Summer Fellows Award (PATA – Poverty Alleviation Through Action).

Through this Awards Program, the Blum Center will sponsor students to go abroad to implement their projects to alleviate poverty in developing countries.

You will have the opportunity of working/interning in a developing country partnering with a local NGO or governmental institution. Your project may be research-oriented or a practical, hands-on application. Your proposal may be related to one of the following topics:
▫   engineering
▫   renewable energy
▫   water
▫   social innovation/entrepreneurship
▫   food security
▫   environmental issues
▫   poverty alleviation
▫   community improvement
▫   global inequality
▫   human and animal health
▫   international affairs
▫   education
▫   health
▫   other pressing matters of a developing country

DEADLINES FOR STUDENTS TO APPLY:

-          Undergraduate and professional students: February 29, 2016 (by 5pm)

-          Graduate students: March 15, 2016 (by 5pm)

A Faculty Committee will select the best projects.
