From The Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison

Deadline: 01/04/15

The Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is now accepting applications for the 2015 Teaching Poverty 101 Workshop, which is designed to help college instructors plan college-level courses on the causes, consequences, and cures of poverty.

The workshop is open to all college faculty and instructors in any postsecondary institution—university, college, or community college.
The workshop will be held on the UW–Madison campus from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, 2015. The workshop will begin with an opening session at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. It will conclude with a closing lunch on Friday. Invited participants will be expected to attend the entire program.

Applicants need not have prior experience in poverty studies, but must be committed to including material from the workshop in future courses. The Institute for Research on Poverty provides tuition and fees, hotel stay, continental breakfasts and lunches, and one group dinner. Participants cover transportation, additional meals, and other expenses.
